Rat Insulinoma Cell Line-RIN-14B
Product Overview
Rat Insulinoma Cell Line-RIN-14B is an epithelial-like cell line isolated from the pancreas of male rats. These cells provide a model for studying the biology of islet cells, particularly the mechanisms controlling the synthesis, storage, and secretion of insulin and somatostatin. The RIN-14B cell line is a subclone derived from the RIN-m rat islet cell line. These cells both produce and secrete somatostatin, and they also produce L-dopa decarboxylase (a cellular marker exhibiting amine precursor uptake and decarboxylation or APUD activity).
