Mouse Embryonic Fibroblast Cell Line-MEF (Treated by Mitomycin C)
Product Overview
The Mouse Embryonic Fibroblast Cell Line-MEF is established by culturing embryos from 9-day pregnant 615 mice after removing organs such as the brain and heart. These cells can be used as feeder cells to support the growth of Embryonic Stem (ES) cells and maintain their undifferentiated state. When used as feeder cells, MEFs need to be treated with mitomycin C to stop their proliferation. It is recommended that MEFs, when serving as feeders for ES cells, should not exceed six passages. MEF requires mitomycin C treatment to stop growth.
