Corynebacterium is a genus of Gram-positive bacteria, with most species being aerobic. These bacteria are rod-shaped (bacilli) and can take on a club-shaped form during certain life stages. Corynebacterium auris may be a component of the normal bacterial flora found in the external auditory canal.
