Vibrio parahaemolyticus is the predominant cause of bacterial gastroenteritis associated with seafood consumption globally, often linked to the ingestion of raw or undercooked seafood. However, not all strains of V. parahaemolyticus are harmful. One of the primary virulence factors of Vibrio parahaemolyticus is thermolabile hemolysin (tlh).
