Target Information
Iridoviruses are large, icosahedral viruses with double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) that can infect invertebrates and cold-blooded vertebrates, such as insects, fish, amphibians, and reptiles. The turbot reddish body iridovirus (TRBIV) is a newly identified piscine iridovirus affecting the cultured turbot, Scophthalmus maximus, in northern China, leading to severe systemic diseases and high mortality rates.
