Target Information

Relaxin is predominantly a pregnancy hormone that influences connective tissue to elongate pubic ligaments and soften the cervix in anticipation of childbirth. It also helps inhibit uterine contractions during pregnancy and has a less clearly defined role in ovulation, promoting mammary gland growth during pregnancy, supporting implantation and sustenance of the fetus, and in the timing of childbirth.
