Swine Glucagon Like Peptide 2 (GLP2) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

Glucagon Like Peptide 2 (GLP-2) is a 33 amino acid peptide that is encoded by the proglucagon gene. It is created through post-translational proteolytic cleavage of proglucagon, a process that also liberates glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). GLP-2 has cytoprotective, reparative, and energy-retentive properties. It may potentially be useful for the treatment of human disorders characterized by injury and/or dysfunction of the intestinal mucosal epithelium. GLP-2 has anti-inflammatory effects and can reduce intestinal inflammatory responses. For example, in a porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) infection model, GLP-2 improves intestinal barrier function and reduces intestinal damage induced by viral infection by up-regulating the expression of tight junction proteins.
