Target Information

Actin, cytoplasmic 1 (ACTB) is a highly conserved protein that plays essential roles in various cellular processes. Actin exists in both monomeric (G-actin) and polymeric (F-actin) forms. Both forms play key functions, such as cell motility, contraction, and cytoskeleton maintenance. Actin, Cytoplasmic 1 is encoded by the ACTB gene in pigs. It is involved in cell motility, structure and integrity. This gene is a good reference gene for high abundant transcripts in expression studies across different porcine tissues.
