Target Information

Streptococcus gordonii is a Gram-positive bacterium. Known as an opportunistic pathogen, it can cause local or systemic diseases, including apical periodontitis and infective endocarditis. As a member of the α-hemolytic (viridans) sanguinis group, S. gordonii primarily inhabits the oral cavity of both humans and animals.
