Target Information

Sheep T-Cell Surface Glycoprotein CD4 is encoded by the CD4 gene in sheep. CD4 is a 55-kDa glycoprotein expressed primarily on the critical helper subset of T lymphocytes. CD4 enhances activation signals transduced by the CD3/T cell receptor complex (CD3/TCR) during antigen-mediated T cell activation and is therefore considered a co-receptor with CD3/TCR. It also contributes directly to signal transduction through its cytoplasmic association with the lymphocyte kinase Lck.
