Target Information

Rickettsia is a genus of nonmotile, gram-negative, non-spore-forming bacteria that are highly pleomorphic. They can exist in various forms, including cocci (0.1 μm in diameter), bacilli (1-4 μm in length), or thread-like shapes (up to about 10 μm long). Rickettsiae are commonly found in ticks, lice, fleas, mites, chiggers, and mammals.
