Target Information

Ribavirin is a synthetic broad-spectrum antiviral nucleotide analogue used primarily in human medicine to treat infections like hepatitis C and viral hemorrhagic fevers. In livestock and poultry farming, it has been illicitly misused as a veterinary treatment to control or prevent viral outbreaks (such as avian influenza, Newcastle disease, or porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome).
