Target Information
Swine transthyretin (TTR) is a protein predominantly produced in the liver and retinal pigment epithelium of pigs. It serves as a transporter for thyroxine and retinol, playing a vital role in hormone regulation and vision. In veterinary medicine, TTR might be investigated in the context of thyroid function assessment and retinal health. It could also be relevant in studies on protein misfolding diseases.
