Target Information
Swine E-selectin, also known as CD62E or Endothelial Leukocyte Adhesion Molecule 1 (ELAM-1), is a cell adhesion molecule that is selectively expressed on the surface of endothelial cells upon activation by cytokines. It plays a crucial role in the process of inflammation by mediating the adhesion of leukocytes to the endothelium, which is a critical step in the immune response. E-selectin is encoded by the SELE gene and has a complex structure that includes a lectin domain, an EGF-like domain, complement regulatory-like domains, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic tail.
