Target Information
Swine coagulation factor XII (F12) is a plasma glycoprotein that plays a central role in the intrinsic pathway of the coagulation cascade. It is activated by contact with negatively charged surfaces, initiating a series of reactions that lead to the activation of factor XI and the subsequent formation of thrombin and fibrin. In pigs, F12 is also implicated in inflammatory responses and tissue remodeling, highlighting its importance in both hemostasis and the immune system.
