Swine angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) is a membrane-bound glycoprotein that plays a pivotal role in the renin-angiotensin system (RAS). It converts angiotensin I to the potent vasoconstrictor angiotensin II and inactivates the vasodilator bradykinin, thereby regulating blood pressure and fluid balance.
