Target Information
Rabbit Interleukin-8 (CXCL8) is a key chemokine involved in immune responses and inflammation. It is produced by various cell types, including leukocytes, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts, in response to pro-inflammatory stimuli such as IL-1, TNF-α, and LPS. CXCL8 primarily functions to recruit and activate neutrophils, which are crucial for combating infections and clearing pathogens. In rabbits, CXCL8 has been shown to promote rapid granulocytosis upon intravenous injection, highlighting its potent neutrophil chemoattractant properties. Additionally, CXCL8 regulates endothelial cell adhesion, chemotaxis, and activation, contributing to angiogenesis and tissue repair. Its involvement in both immune defense and tissue regeneration makes CXCL8 a valuable target for studying inflammatory diseases and developing therapeutic strategies.
