Target Information
Rabbit Interleukin-4 (IL4) is a multifunctional cytokine primarily produced by activated T helper 2 (Th2) cells, NKT cells, and mast cells. It plays a crucial role in promoting the differentiation of Th2 cells, which are essential for combating extracellular parasites and contributing to allergic responses. IL4 also induces the differentiation of M2 macrophages, which are involved in tissue repair and controlling infections by certain protozoa. Additionally, IL4 acts as a growth factor for B cells, promoting their proliferation and the production of immunoglobulins such as IgE and IgG1. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects by inducing alternative macrophage activation and regulating immune responses. In rabbits, IL4 has potential applications in modulating immune responses and treating conditions related to Th2 immune reactions.
