Target Information
Rabbit Interferon Gamma (IFNG) is a type II interferon produced primarily by activated T lymphocytes and natural killer (NK) cells. It plays a crucial role in immune responses, including antiviral, antimicrobial, and antitumor activities. IFNG enhances macrophage activation, increases the expression of MHC class I and II molecules, and promotes Th1 immune responses. In rabbits, IFNG has been used in research to study immune mechanisms, vaccine efficacy, and the regulation of immune responses in infectious disease models. Its high species specificity and involvement in cytokine regulation make it a valuable tool for immunological research.
