Target Information
Rabbit Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 1 (ICAM1) is a critical cell surface glycoprotein that mediates cell-to-cell interactions, particularly in immune responses and inflammation. It is expressed on various cell types, including endothelial and immune cells, and is upregulated during inflammation. ICAM1 is essential for leukocyte adhesion and transendothelial migration, guiding immune cells to sites of inflammation. In rabbits, ICAM1 has been studied in the context of inflammation and immune cell trafficking. It also plays a role in maintaining endothelial and epithelial barrier functions by interacting with the actin cytoskeleton. Additionally, ICAM1 is involved in the resolution of inflammation and tissue repair, contributing to processes like macrophage-mediated clearance of apoptotic cells. Its versatile functions make ICAM1 a potential target for therapeutic interventions in inflammatory and immune-related disorders.
