Target Information
Rabbit Fibroblast Growth Factor 2 (FGF2) is a multifunctional protein involved in various biological processes. It plays a crucial role in tissue repair and regeneration, particularly in bone and cartilage. For example, FGF2 has been shown to promote the healing of full-thickness defects in rabbit articular cartilage by stimulating the differentiation of mesenchymal cells into chondrocytes and facilitating the regeneration of hyaline cartilage. Additionally, FGF2 is involved in angiogenesis, wound healing, and embryonic development. In rabbits, FGF2 has been used to improve fracture healing by activating mesenchymal stem cells, leading to rapid callus formation and a shorter repair time. Its diverse functions make FGF2 a valuable target for therapeutic applications in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
