Target Information
Rabbit CCN Family Member 2 (CCN2), also known as Connective Tissue Growth Factor (CTGF), is a multifunctional protein that plays a key role in various biological processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and extracellular matrix (ECM) production. CCN2 is highly expressed in cartilage and vascular tissues, promoting chondrocyte proliferation and the synthesis of cartilaginous matrix proteins such as type II collagen and aggrecan. It also enhances angiogenesis by stimulating the migration and adhesion of endothelial cells. In addition, CCN2 is involved in wound healing and fibrotic processes, making it a potential therapeutic target for conditions such as osteoarthritis and fibrosis. In rabbits, CCN2 has been shown to significantly stimulate the proliferation and differentiation of growth-plate chondrocytes, contributing to cartilage development and endochondral ossification.
