Studies have shown that CRP can cause a rapid drop in blood pressure in rabbits after intravenous injection, indicating its potential impact on cardiovascular function. Additionally, CRP turnover studies in rabbits reveal that its plasma half-life is around 4.45 hours in normal conditions and 5.8 hours under inflammatory stimuli, with synthesis rates varying widely depending on the inflammatory state.
