Target Information
Rabbit Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) is a key neurotrophin that supports neuronal survival, growth, and differentiation. It binds to the high-affinity receptor TrkB, activating signaling pathways such as MAPK, PLCγ, and PI3K/Akt, which are crucial for synaptic plasticity and learning and memory. BDNF is widely expressed in the central nervous system (CNS) and plays a significant role in neuroprotection, particularly against conditions like cerebral ischemia and neurotoxicity. In rabbits, BDNF has been studied for its potential in promoting neuronal recovery and synaptic plasticity, making it a valuable target for research in neurodegenerative diseases and neural repair. Additionally, BDNF's involvement in energy homeostasis and its regulatory effects on glucose metabolism highlight its importance in metabolic processes.
