Target Information
Rabbit Apolipoprotein A-I (APOA1) is a major component of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and plays a vital role in lipid metabolism and cardiovascular health. It acts as a cofactor for lecithin cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT), facilitating the esterification of cholesterol and promoting reverse cholesterol transport. In rabbits, APOA1 has been shown to exert protective effects against fatty liver disease, likely through its antioxidant properties. Additionally, APOA1 has anti-inflammatory and anti-atherogenic properties, contributing to cardiovascular protection. These functions make APOA1 an important target for studying lipid disorders and cardiovascular diseases in rabbits.
