Target Information
Peptidyl-prolyl Cis-trans Isomerase A is encoded by the PPIA gene in pigs. PPIA belongs to the peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase (PPIase) family. Its primary role is to catalyze the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds. It has been found to be one of the most stable gene in some studies addressing gene stability in cells of bone/osteoblast origin. Due to its diverse functions, PPIA has been implicated in various inflammatory diseases, such as atherosclerosis and arthritis.
