Target Information
Mouse Toll-like Receptor 7 (Tlr7) is a key component of the innate immune system, expressed primarily in immune cells such as plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) and macrophages. Tlr7 recognizes single-stranded RNA (ssRNA) from viruses, triggering antiviral immune responses. It contains two ligand-binding pockets that recognize different RNA structures. Upon activation, Tlr7 signals through the MyD88-dependent pathway, leading to the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and type I interferons (IFNs), which are crucial for antiviral defense. In mouse models, Tlr7 activation is essential for controlling viral infections and maintaining immune homeostasis.
