Target Information
Mouse Toll-like Receptor 2 (Tlr2) is a pattern recognition receptor that plays a critical role in innate immunity by recognizing pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs). It is expressed in various immune cells, including dendritic cells, macrophages, and neutrophils, and modulates immune responses to pathogens and tissue damage. Tlr2 signaling regulates the activation, proliferation, and function of immune cells such as DCs, macrophages, NK cells, and T cells, thereby influencing pathogen clearance and antitumor immunity. It is implicated in multiple diseases, including autoimmune disorders, dermatitis, gastrointestinal cancers, and respiratory diseases. In mouse models, Tlr2 is associated with asthma pathogenesis, where it activates JNK signaling pathways, contributing to airway inflammation and remodeling. Tlr2 is a potential therapeutic target for various immune-mediated and inflammatory diseases.
