Target Information
Mouse Regenerating Islet-Derived Protein 3-Gamma (Reg3g) is a C-type lectin involved in innate immunity and mucosal homeostasis. It is expressed in the pancreas and intestinal epithelium, where it acts as an antimicrobial peptide to defend against bacterial pathogens. Reg3g plays a role in modulating inflammation and promoting tissue repair following injury. In mouse models, Reg3g deficiency increases susceptibility to gastrointestinal infections and impairs wound healing.
