Target Information
Mouse Proliferation Marker Protein Ki-67 (Mki67) is a nuclear protein that is widely used as a marker for cell proliferation. It is expressed in cells that are actively cycling through the cell cycle, particularly in the G1, S, G2, and M phases. Mki67 is not detectable in quiescent (G0) cells. In mouse models, Mki67 is used to assess the rate of cell division in various tissues, including the thymus, spleen, and bone marrow. It is also a valuable tool in cancer research, where it helps to determine the proliferative capacity of tumor cells. High levels of Mki67 expression are often associated with more aggressive cancers and poorer prognosis. Additionally, Mki67 is involved in the regulation of cell cycle progression and is essential for maintaining the integrity of the cell cycle.
