Target Information
Mouse Phosphatidylinositol 4-Phosphate 3-Kinase C2 Domain-Containing Subunit Alpha (Pik3c2a) is a catalytic subunit of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) family, involved in signaling pathways related to cell proliferation, survival, migration, and intracellular protein trafficking. It contains a lipid kinase catalytic domain and a C-terminal C2 domain, characteristic of class II PI3-kinases. In mice, Pik3c2a plays a role in autophagosome organization, phosphatidylinositol-3-phosphate biosynthesis, and negative regulation of zinc ion transmembrane transport. It is also implicated in processes such as endothelial function, atherosclerosis, and thrombosis. Dysregulation of Pik3c2a has been associated with diseases like lung fibrosis, cataract formation, and blood pressure regulation disorders.
