Target Information
Mouse Mitochondrial Brown Fat Uncoupling Protein 1 (Ucp1) is a key protein in brown adipose tissue (BAT) that uncouples oxidative phosphorylation, generating heat instead of ATP. This process, known as non-shivering thermogenesis, is crucial for maintaining body temperature in cold environments. Ucp1 is highly expressed in brown fat cells, where it helps dissipate energy as heat to prevent overheating and maintain metabolic homeostasis. In mouse models, Ucp1 deficiency leads to reduced thermogenic capacity and increased susceptibility to obesity and metabolic disorders.
Shipping and Storage
This product is shipped with ice packs. Lyophilized protein can be stored at -80°C for 1 year. After reconstitution, the protein solution can be stored at 2-8°C for 2-7 days.
