Target Information
Mouse Matrix Metalloproteinase-14 (Mmp14), also known as MT1-MMP, is a key member of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family. It is a membrane-bound enzyme that plays a crucial role in the degradation and remodeling of the extracellular matrix (ECM), processes essential for tissue development, wound healing, and tumor progression. Mmp14 is expressed in various tissues, including the heart, brain, and limbs during embryonic development. In mouse models, Mmp14 deficiency leads to severe developmental defects, such as craniofacial dysmorphism, arthritis, osteopenia, dwarfism, and fibrosis of soft tissues.
