Target Information
Mouse Macrophage Mannose Receptor 1 (Mrc1) is a C-type lectin receptor expressed primarily on macrophages, dendritic cells, and certain endothelial cells. It plays a crucial role in the recognition and uptake of pathogens and apoptotic cells through its ability to bind to mannose and other sugar residues. Mrc1 is involved in endocytosis, phagocytosis, and the presentation of antigens to the immune system. In mouse models, Mrc1 has been implicated in the regulation of immune responses, particularly in the context of infections and inflammation. Additionally, Mrc1 has been shown to play a role in tissue repair and remodeling following injury. Abnormal expression or function of Mrc1 can lead to impaired immune responses and increased susceptibility to infections.
