Target Information
Mouse Leukotriene-A-4 Hydrolase (Lta4h) is a key enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes, which are lipid mediators that play important roles in inflammation and immune responses. Lta4h catalyzes the conversion of leukotriene A4 (LTA4) to leukotriene B4 (LTB4), a potent chemoattractant for neutrophils and other immune cells. This enzyme is expressed in various tissues, including the lungs, spleen, and bone marrow. In mouse models, Lta4h deficiency leads to reduced levels of LTB4 and attenuated inflammatory responses. Lta4h also has aminopeptidase activity, which can degrade certain peptides and contribute to immune regulation. Overall, Lta4h is crucial for the generation of inflammatory mediators and the modulation of immune responses.
