Target Information

Mouse Inhibin Beta B Chain (Inhbb) is a protein belonging to the TGF-beta superfamily. It forms part of the activin and inhibin complexes, which have opposing effects on follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) secretion from the pituitary gland. Inhibin, containing the beta B chain, suppresses FSH secretion through a negative feedback mechanism, regulating folliculogenesis. Inhbb is essential for early folliculogenesis in mice and plays roles in cell cycle progression, apoptosis, and steroidogenesis in granulosa cells.
