Target Information
Mouse Indoleamine 2,3-Dioxygenase 1 (Ido1) is an enzyme that catalyzes the first and rate-limiting step in the catabolism of tryptophan, producing kynurenine. This enzyme plays a crucial role in immune regulation by depleting tryptophan and generating immunosuppressive metabolites. Ido1 is highly expressed in immune cells such as dendritic cells and macrophages, where it contributes to the induction of immune tolerance and the suppression of T cell responses. In mouse models, Ido1 has been implicated in the regulation of inflammation and the prevention of autoimmune diseases. Additionally, Ido1 has been shown to play a role in cancer immunotherapy, where its expression can influence the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors.
