Mouse Histone H3.3 (H3-3A) is a histone variant that plays a crucial role in chromatin remodeling and gene regulation. Unlike canonical histones, H3.3 is encoded by single-copy genes (H3f3a and H3f3b) and is deposited into chromatin in a replication-independent manner. This allows H3.3 to be incorporated into chromatin throughout the cell cycle, particularly in post-mitotic cells, where it can replace canonical histones over time. H3.3 is essential for maintaining genome integrity and supporting chromosomal heterochromatic structures.

User Note
