Target Information

Mouse Heparin Cofactor 2 (Serpind1) is a serine protease inhibitor that regulates blood coagulation and fibrinolysis. It acts as a cofactor for antithrombin, enhancing its inhibition of thrombin and other proteases. In mice, Serpind1 helps prevent excessive blood clotting and maintains the balance between coagulation and fibrinolysis. Its deficiency can lead to thrombotic disorders. Research on Serpind1 in mice has contributed to understanding its role in hemostasis and potential therapeutic approaches for related conditions.
