Target Information
Mouse Glutathione S-Transferase A2 (Gsta2) is a key enzyme in the detoxification of electrophilic compounds, including carcinogens, therapeutic drugs, and products of oxidative stress. It exhibits glutathione peroxidase activity, protecting cells from reactive oxygen species and peroxidation products. Gsta2 is highly expressed in the liver and plays a role in bilirubin metabolism. It is also implicated in cancer progression and drug resistance, with upregulation associated with poor prognosis in hepatocellular carcinoma. Gsta2 may serve as a therapeutic target in diseases linked to oxidative stress and cancer.
