Target Information
Mouse Glutathione-Hydrolase (Ggt1) is an enzyme that plays a crucial role in detoxification and metabolism. It catalyzes the hydrolysis of glutathione conjugates, breaking them down into simpler compounds that can be more easily excreted from the body. Ggt1 is highly expressed in the liver, where it helps in the detoxification of various harmful substances. It also plays a role in maintaining the balance of glutathione, a key antioxidant in the body. Abnormal expression or function of Ggt1 can lead to metabolic disorders and an increased susceptibility to oxidative stress and damage. In mouse models, Ggt1 has been implicated in the regulation of lipid metabolism and the development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
