Target Information
Mouse Deoxyribonuclease Gamma (DNase1l3) is a secreted DNase I-like nuclease highly expressed in lymphoid organs. It plays a critical role in digesting chromatin DNA released from apoptotic cells, preventing autoimmunity. DNase1l3 deficiency leads to elevated anti-DNA antibodies and autoimmune responses, as observed in mouse models of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). DNase1l3 is also involved in maintaining plasma extracellular DNA (ecDNA) homeostasis by enhancing DNA fragmentation. Its potential therapeutic applications include treating autoimmune diseases by restoring its function.
