Target Information

Mouse Chymotrypsin-C (Ctrc) is a serine protease that plays a crucial role in the digestive process by breaking down proteins into smaller peptides. It is synthesized in the pancreas and secreted into the small intestine, where it cleaves peptide bonds at aromatic and large hydrophobic amino acids. Ctrc is essential for the efficient digestion and absorption of dietary proteins. Abnormal expression or function of Ctrc can lead to digestive disorders and malnutrition. Additionally, Ctrc has been implicated in the regulation of immune responses and inflammation, with its activity being modulated by various cytokines and growth factors.
