Target Information
Mouse Carnitine Palmitoyltransferase 1a, Liver (Cpt1a) is a key enzyme in mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation. It catalyzes the transfer of long-chain fatty acids from the cytosol to the mitochondria, a critical step in energy production. Cpt1a is highly expressed in the liver and plays a crucial role in maintaining energy homeostasis, especially during fasting or prolonged exercise. In mouse models, Cpt1a deficiency leads to impaired fatty acid oxidation and increased susceptibility to hypoglycemia.
