Mouse C-C Motif Chemokine 17 (Ccl17) is a chemokine that plays a significant role in immune regulation and has been implicated in various pathological conditions. In mouse models, Ccl17 has been shown to regulate immune cell infiltration and polarization, particularly in the context of vascular aging and inflammation. Ccl17 knockout mice exhibit reduced vascular stiffness and fibrosis, suggesting that Ccl17 contributes to age-related vascular dysfunction. Additionally, Ccl17 has been shown to influence the balance of T helper (Th) cells, promoting Th2 polarization and potentially contributing to allergic responses. In the context of myocardial infarction, Ccl17 is expressed in CCR2+ macrophages and dendritic cells, where it inhibits the recruitment of regulatory T cells (Tregs) and exacerbates adverse left ventricular remodeling. These findings highlight the potential therapeutic value of targeting Ccl17 in cardiovascular diseases and aging-related conditions.
