Target Information
Mouse C-C Chemokine Receptor Type 7 (Ccr7) is a G protein-coupled receptor that plays a crucial role in the immune system by mediating the migration of dendritic cells (DCs) and T cells to lymph nodes. Ccr7 interacts with its ligands CCL19 and CCL21, which are expressed by stromal cells in lymphoid tissues, guiding immune cells to the T-cell zones where they can initiate antigen presentation and T-cell activation. In mouse models, Ccr7 is essential for the proper organization of secondary lymphoid structures and the regulation of immune responses. Abnormal expression of Ccr7 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, where it can promote tumor metastasis to lymph nodes. Additionally, Ccr7 has been shown to play a role in the pathophysiology of inflammatory diseases and may serve as a potential target for immunotherapy.
