Target Information
Mouse Bone Morphogenetic Protein 1 (Bmp1) is a member of the BMP-1/tolloidlike proteinases (BTP) family, playing roles in muscle growth, wound healing, and tissue repair. It processes precursors of extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins and growth factors like TGFβ, BMP2, and BMP4, regulating morphogenesis. Bmp1 is crucial for maintaining periodontal homeostasis and normal cementum formation. It is associated with diseases such as osteogenesis imperfecta and is implicated in breast tumor metastasis. Bmp1 also enhances bone healing and is being explored for its therapeutic potential in bone repair.
