Target Information
Mouse Beta-Hexosaminidase Subunit beta (Hexb) is a key component of the lysosomal enzyme beta-hexosaminidase, which degrades gangliosides and other molecules. It is crucial for lysosomal function and neuronal health. Hexb is involved in various biological processes, including glycosaminoglycan catabolism and RNA polymerase II transcription regulation. It is expressed in multiple tissues, including the nervous system, and is used to study Sandhoff disease, a neurodegenerative disorder caused by Hexb deficiency.
