Mouse Angiopoietin-Related Protein 4 (Angptl4) is a secreted glycoprotein that belongs to the angiopoietin-related protein family, involved in regulating angiogenesis and lipid metabolism. Angptl4 is expressed in various tissues, including adipose tissue, intestine, and lung, and its expression is regulated by nutritional status and hormonal signals. In mice, Angptl4 inhibits lipoprotein lipase activity, affecting the hydrolysis of triglycerides in chylomicrons and very-low-density lipoproteins. It also modulates endothelial cell function and blood vessel formation, playing a role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and obesity-related metabolic disorders.
