Mouse 85/88 kDa Calcium-Independent Phospholipase A2 (Pla2g6) is a calcium-independent phospholipase A2 that belongs to the group VI phospholipase A2 family. It is widely expressed in various mammalian tissues and cells and plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism, inflammation, and cell signaling. Pla2g6 catalyzes the hydrolysis of phospholipids to release arachidonic acid and lysophospholipids, which are important precursors for the synthesis of bioactive lipid mediators such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes.
